Laugh For The Cure® (LFTC) is a grass-roots effort founded in 2002 in Charlotte, NC by a group of friends whose lives had each been touched by breast cancer. We founded the event to remember loved ones we’d lost, celebrate the survivors and help those in our community currently impacted by the disease. The event has grown into one of the most highly anticipated and unique fundraising events in Charlotte and is quickly spreading to cities across the country! Laughter is the best medicine and the PG comedy shows have universal appeal to all audiences and keep the crowd ‘laughing for a cure’!

Our primary goal in founding Laugh for the Cure® is to establish an event unlike any other to increase awareness around breast health issues and to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. We believe that the most effective way to accomplish this goal is to fund the incredible work already being carried out by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which is widely recognized as the nation's leading catalyst in the fight against breast cancer. Laugh for the Cure® is a registered trademark under the Susan G. Komen for the Cure umbrella and all proceeds from a LFTC event will benefit a local Komen Affiliate. For additional information on Komen, please visit www.komen.org.

Since it’s inception, Laugh for the Cure® has raised over $180,000 in the fight against breast cancer! $103,000 has been donated to the Komen Charlotte Affiliate (Charlotte, NC).  The Komen Eastern Washington Affiliate (Spokane, WA) has organized three events since 2005 and raised over $36,700. In 2007, inaugural Laugh for the Cure® events are being organized in the following markets: the Komen Minnesota Affiliate (Minneapolis, MN), the Komen Houston Affiliate (Houston, TX) and the Komen North Florida Affiliate (Jacksonville, FL)! In the spring of 2006, Laugh for the Cure® received national recognition for its innovative and creative approach to fighting breast cancer when it’s founder was named a 2006 Yoplait® Champion.
